18th Century Carved Wood Angel Wings, Gilded over Gesso, 40"
$6,800.00
A beautiful pair of 18th century carved wood angel wings, gilded over gesso — possibly earlier. Back from restoration (12/30/22): gesso gold leaf repairs along with an all-over shellac. Measures 40"H x 20"W x 3.75"D, with custom made brackets for the backs. The wings were obviously attached to an angel at some point. Age related paint loss and wear. A breathtaking architectural piece for a grand entry, chapel, or gallery wall. Note: the $1,500 listed shipping price is erroneous — shipping must be calculated before purchase.
